Ja’rod Walker
M.Ed/PrincipAL & Science Teacher
Ja’rod Walker will serve as the principal of Way Christian Academy. He is a proud native of Dallas, Texas, who charted the course to Oklahoma through Langston University, where he pursued a degree in business management. His education journey began at TRIO Upward Bound, where his exceptional dedication earned him the prestigious Employee of the Year award twice.
Transitioning into full-time elementary education within Oklahoma City Public Schools, he concurrently pursued higher education, culminating in a master’s degree with a specialization in student personnel from the University of Central Oklahoma. His commitment to student success led to his role as academic coordinator for the TRIO Talent Search Central Connect program at UCO, where he continued advocating for first-generation, at-risk, and low-income students.
Ja’rod was selected as the representative for the Southwest Association of Student Assistance and served as President for the Oklahoma Division of Student Assistance. Additionally, he is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and served as the director of education for the Beta Epsilon chapter.
In his multifaceted career, Ja’rod has served as a high school counselor at Mount St. Mary Catholic High School while concurrently teaching a college-level course through Newman University called Achieving College Success. Over the course of 15 years, he has dedicated his life to education, with a passion for improving youth that spans primary to secondary education.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Ja’rod finds joy in his roles as a loving husband to Parthenia Walker and a devoted father to their beautiful daughter Maddie.
Kayla Peele
MS.,M.A./ELA & Social Studies
Mrs. Peele will serve as our English Language Arts & Social Studies teacher. Kayla Peele is thrilled to join Way Christian Academy this year. Originally from North Carolina, she has called Oklahoma home for the past six years. Her family and she are proud members of Way Family Church, where they have found a deep sense of community and belonging.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, a Master of Science in Library Science from PennWest Clarion of Pennsylvania, and a Master’s degree in Arts in Indigenous Peoples Legal Studies from the University of Oklahoma.
Kayla is passionate about education and knowledge, particularly from a Christian perspective, and she is eager to bring her enthusiasm for learning to Way Christian Academy. This year, she will be teaching English/Language Arts and Social Studies, and she looks forward to nurturing a love for knowledge and exploration among her students.
When not immersed in learning, Kayla finds joy in cooking and experimenting with new recipes. Her culinary adventures are shared with her husband, Chris, whom she has been married to for 14 years, and their two children, Gracelynn and Jackson. Family time is precious to them, whether it’s exploring new activities together or simply enjoying each other’s company at home.
Beyond family, she cherishes moments spent with friends, fostering meaningful connections and creating lasting memories. These moments enrich her life tremendously.

Jaymie Webster
Enrichment Coordinator
Jaymie Webster will serve as the Enrichment Coordinator at Way Christian Academy. With 15 years of experience working with children of various ages, Jaymie has significantly contributed to their development in diverse settings, including classrooms, dance studios, and church children’s departments. Her dedication to fostering growth and learning in young minds is evident in her extensive background. Jaymie resides in Yukon, OK, where she is a devoted mother to her two daughters, Jaydon (11) and Maggie June (2). Her experience and commitment to enriching children’s lives make her a valuable addition to our academy.
Mary Bowler
MATH TEACHER
Mary Bowler is a dedicated and passionate educator with over a decade of experience in the field of education. Holding a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Mary has successfully nurtured the intellectual and personal development of countless students. Her teaching philosophy is centered around fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, where students are encouraged to think critically and express their creativity.
Mary is known for her innovative teaching methods, incorporating play and real-world examples to make lessons engaging and relevant. As a lifelong learner herself, she actively seeks professional development opportunities to stay abreast of the latest educational trends and methodologies.
In her spare time, she plays an active role in volunteering at Way Family Church, teaching dance and tutoring with The Ray Tutoring Company.
